Privacy policy

We collect as little as possible, we never sell your data, and we use it only to run and improve the site. This policy explains exactly what that means.

Last updated August 2026.

This policy explains what personal data WalletPicks collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. It applies to this website and everything we do through it.

Who we are

WalletPicks is an independent, reader-supported publisher of wallet reviews. The site is independently owned and operated from Serbia. For the purpose of data protection law, WalletPicks is the data controller for the personal data described here.

If you have any question about this policy or your data, you can reach us at [email protected] or through our contact page.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the site and provide the things you ask for.

  • Email address: only if you subscribe to our newsletter or create an account.
  • Account and review data: if you register or submit a review, we store your chosen display name and the content you post.
  • Messages you send us: the name, email and message you provide through the contact form.
  • Aggregate analytics: which pages are visited and general usage patterns, used to understand what is helpful. This is not used to build an advertising profile of you.
  • Server logs: standard technical logs that may include your IP address, browser type and the time of a request, kept for security and abuse prevention.

We do not knowingly collect special categories of data, and we do not ask for financial details, card numbers or your crypto keys. You should never send us any recovery phrase, private key or password.

The legal basis for using your data

Where data protection law applies, we rely on the following bases:

  • Consent: for the newsletter and for any non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Contract: to provide an account or publish a review you have chosen to submit.
  • Legitimate interests: to keep the site secure, prevent abuse, and understand aggregate usage, balanced against your rights.
  • Legal obligation: where we are required to retain or disclose data by law.

How we use it

We use your data to send the newsletter you asked for, to publish reviews you choose to submit, to reply to your messages, to keep the site secure, and to improve what we cover. We do not use your data for third-party advertising profiles, and we do not sell it to anyone.

Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of essential cookies to run the site and, where you consent, privacy-respecting analytics. Full detail, including how to control them, is in our cookie policy.

Affiliate links and third parties

Some links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one, the destination retailer sets its own cookies and processes your data under its own privacy policy, which we do not control. Our full approach is set out in our affiliate disclosure.

We rely on a small set of trusted service providers, for example hosting and email delivery, that process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements and only on our instructions.

Sharing your data

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with the service providers described above, or where we are legally required to do so, or to protect the security and rights of the site and its users.

International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data remains protected by appropriate safeguards.

How long we keep it

  • Newsletter email: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
  • Account and reviews: until you ask us to delete your account, after which reviews may be anonymised or removed.
  • Contact messages: for as long as needed to handle your query, then a reasonable period for our records.
  • Server logs: for a short period appropriate to security and abuse prevention.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the data we hold about you, to correct it, to erase it, to restrict or object to its use, to withdraw consent, and to receive a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email [email protected] and we will respond promptly. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age required to consent in their country. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. Keep your account credentials private, and never share crypto keys or recovery phrases with anyone, including us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and significant changes will be made clear on this page.
