KuCoin Wallet is KuCoin’s self-custody web3 wallet (free). A deep, feature-rich self-custody wallet: 20 chains, more than a thousand assets, DEX-aggregated swaps, staking, prediction markets and native perpetual trading, with free instant transfers to and from a KuCoin account. Three caveats keep the score in check. There is no confirmed current third-party audit and it appears to be closed source, so you take its security on trust. Funding leans on the KuCoin exchange, and after KuCoin pleaded guilty to US charges in January 2025 and agreed to leave the US market, that path is blocked for US users. And it is a different product from the old KuCoin Wallet that became Halo Wallet, so ignore reviews of that one.

Which KuCoin wallet is this?
Three things have carried the KuCoin Wallet name. The original, launched in 2022, was spun off and rebranded as Halo Wallet in 2023 and is effectively defunct. The custodial KuCoin exchange account is a different thing entirely. The product you install today is the KuCoin Web3 Wallet, relaunched in January 2026, and that is what this review covers. It is self-custody, with a 12-word seed phrase, encrypted local storage and biometrics, so you hold the keys rather than the exchange.
A deep feature set
Coverage is broad: around 20 blockchains including Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum and Solana, and more than a thousand assets across ERC-20, NFTs and Solana tokens. Swaps use DEX aggregation for routing, there is a dApp browser, staking with a low KCS minimum, an airdrop hub, and the headline 2026 addition, native in-wallet perpetual futures with a large set of trading pairs. Transfers between a KuCoin exchange account and the wallet are free and instant, which is the main reason an existing KuCoin user would choose it.
The security and access caveats
This is where care is needed. We could not confirm a current third-party audit of the Web3 Wallet; an earlier audit applied to the old product that became Halo, not necessarily today's code, and there is no evidence it is open source, which is why the security subscore is capped. Separately, the 2020 hack people associate with KuCoin drained the exchange hot wallets, not a self-custody wallet, and those users were made whole, but it speaks to the operator's history. Most important for a US reader: after pleading guilty to running an unlicensed money transmitter and agreeing to exit the US in January 2025, KuCoin does not serve the US market, which blocks the usual funding route through the exchange.
KuCoin Wallet vs the alternatives

The KuCoin Web3 Wallet is free to download and use, and free instant transfers with a KuCoin exchange account are a genuine convenience. Swaps carry the routed DEX cost and gas, and there is no separate wallet subscription. For a non-US user in the KuCoin ecosystem the value is high, since you get perps, staking and 20 chains in one app; for a US user the value collapses because the exchange funding route is closed.
Who should buy the KuCoin Wallet
